Communications Update for the 2022-23 School Year

We are excited to announce that District 205 has adopted a new form of school-to-home communication called ParentSquare. This communications platform is designed to keep parents and guardians informed and encourage greater engagement and connection and replaces our previous system.

Construction projects continue to take shape as District 205 fulfills its promises from 2018’s $168.5M referendum. Edison Elementary School is currently undergoing a major renovation as a result.

Today, fourth grade students got a sneak peek of what is to come this August when the project is completed. The students were able to move into their two new classrooms and held a mini, socially-distanced ribbon cutting to celebrate!

You may view this message in video form here. I would like to begin by thanking all of our families and employees for their patience and cooperation as we launched E-Learning in District 205 yesterday.

This afternoon, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker extended the closure of schools across the state through the end of the month of April. This was not unexpected, and the District has been busy planning to transition from Act of God Days to extended Remote Learning Days. We will elicit feedback and learn from our first several days of implementation and will continue to work to improve our service to you.
