REFLECTIONS - DEADLINE NOVEMBER 24 - "I Matter Because . . ."

The National PTA Reflections program is PTA's cornerstone art program, offering students an opportunity to explore their artistic creativity and earn recognition for the artwork they create. No experience is required to participate and all grade levels are welcome. Just have fun and express yourself - draw, paint, make a collage, write something, take a photo, compose a song, choreograph a dance, produce a movie. Only original works of art are accepted. It does not matter whether an entry created for the Reflections Program has been created as a classroom assignment or independently at home. Once judged at the local level, winners will progress through the county, state and national levels. All students who participate will be recognized! Questions? Contact Leslie Schlesinger.

The PTA Council is kicking off fundraising for York Senior Scholarships this year with a yummy ready to bake cookie dough sale! Please click here to place an order. The sale runs through the week of November 18th. Order pickup will be the week of December 7th.

The Edison PTA would like to remind our parents that the PTA directory has been produced for the purpose of better communication within the school community and it should be used solely for PTA purposes. It should not be used for solicitation purposes. Both D205 and the Edison PTA have strict privacy policies as well as rules around utilizing mass distributions for personal and political purposes.

The Foundation 205 Fall Campaign has kicked off and runs through December 2nd. Foundation 205's annual fall campaign will help D205 students grow, thrive and excel. Over its 25 year history, Foundation 205 has evolved to meet the current environment and needs of our students. Through the Community Response Fund, they provided $120,000 in emergency support for students and their families since March. Looking ahead, Foundation 205 has identified 3 main priorities and is asking for philanthropic support in these critical areas:

  1. York senior scholarships in partnership with PTA Council Scholarship committee
  2. Diverse and inclusive literature collections in collaboration with the Elmhurst Pride Collective
  3. Mental health resources to expand the PTA Council's Thrive 205 Wellness Partnership.

October 26–December 1, 2020. For more than 40 years, the Elmhurst community has participated in the UCCA Holiday Food Drive to help Elmhurst District 205 school children and their families. This year will look a little different but the need is still great, if not greater, than ever. We are helping almost 100 more families than last year. To ensure everyone’s safety, we are moving our efforts online. Instead of bringing food donations to school, you can go online and donate to sponsor a holiday meal ($16), a box of food ($30) or more! It’s quick and easy. Click here to learn more and make a donation. Please give today so we can help struggling families put food on the table during these unprecedented times. We appreciate your gift in any amount. You may also drop off Jewel and Mariano’s gift cards at the Elmhurst YMCA and the Elmhurst Public Library.
