BOO BASH 10 DAYS AWAY!!!
PREORDER STUDENT WRISTBANDS NOW!
Rain, snow or shine; hot or cold; whatever the weather, Boo Bash activities will be both outside and inside. Dress for the weather. Order student wristbands and raffle tickets here by October 26th for a discount! That's only six(6) more days to pre-order! All pre-ordered tickets and wristbands will be sent home in an envelope with your student.
Wristbands to enter are $5 per child in advance, but increase to $10 per child at the door. Adults do not need wristbands. All children and teens must be accompanied by an adult. Raffle tickets are $10 for 12, or $1 each, so buy your tickets now! You can purchase more raffle tickets at the Boo Bash, but we have some amazing baskets, so get them while they are cheaper.
SERG is excited to bring back the SENSORY ROOM to this year's event. It will be indoors, and a quiet place for your students to catch their breath. The Boo Bash is BACK on Saturday,10/30 and the PTA needs YOU to make this event a frightful & delightful success! We are asking Edi-Linc parents to sign up for just 1 hour of the event, and you can still spend the other 2 hours with your family. Thanks to those who have purchased festive goodies from our Charleston Wrap fundraiser - going on now through 10/26. There was a slight delay with the catalogs and the kids will be bringing them home this week - be sure to check those backpacks! Edi-Linc will receive a significant portion of every purchase made to fund our school programs this year. LET'S GET LITERARY! PUMPKIN BOOK CHARACTERS
Edi-Linc Families: The Edison Library and Studio wants you to get LITERARY with pumpkin decorating this year by creating pumpkin characters from favorite children's books! This is a unique opportunity for your family to decorate a pumpkin in honor of a beloved children's book character. People, monsters, wizards, birds, dogs, crayons, cats, bears, caterpillars, spiders, tin men, dragons, princesses, pigs, elephants - there are so many options! REFLECTIONS - THEME ANNOUNCED
This year's theme for Reflections, the National PTA arts program, is "I Will Change The World By..." Students are encouraged to create a piece of artwork that reflects this theme with seven (7) categories to choose from: Photography, Literature, Visual Arts, Music Composition, Film Production, Dance Choreography, Special Project. SQUARE ONE ART
One of your child’s art masterpieces will be showcased as part of the PTA’s upcoming Square One Art fundraiser.
We are currently in the art completion stage. The art teachers have been busy helping each child create the pieces that will be digitally captured and available for purchase in a variety of merchandise formats (ie. coasters, mouse pads, stationary, towels, etc). These make spectacular one-of-a-kind presents for upcoming holidays.
General schedule: Samples on display at the Boo Bash (October). Each child will bring home a product catalog with their artwork image showcased (early November). Orders can be purchased and paid for online (or hardcopy papers returned to the Edison office) with products directly shipped to home. See full range of products here. Questions? Contact Tracy Lewis.
Mondays, join the Edi-Linc Dads' Club at HB Jones, 551 S York St. Drop in after 7:00 for Monday Night Football. We will meet at the back outdoor area. This is a great way to informally meet other dads from school. Questions? Contact Russ Perr or Kevin Johnson. We hope to see some new faces there!

District 205 News
WEBINAR ON VACCINES FOR SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN 5+ - TODAY
Parents, staff and community members are invited to a webinar discussing Vaccines for School Age Children. The webinar is sponsored by Elmhurst School District 205 as a service to families. It will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 20. The webinar will feature a panel of medical experts in immunology and infectious diseases. The team will answer questions about the vaccine and provide updates to families about COVID in Illinois, DuPage County, and our school district. You can register here and also submit questions for the panel. The webinar will be recorded and posted the following day on the District’s YouTube page.
PTA COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP FOR DUKES MCDONALD'S FUNDRAISER
October 21 from 4-8PM. McDonald's Eat and Earn 2 Ways! South Elmhurst (Butterfield Rd) and Villa Park (St Charles Rd west of Rt 83). Show the flyer or say “I’m with York!” at the 1st window for 20% of profits to benefit the scholarship fund. Then, bring CASH for cookies at the second window. (Minimum $1 per cookie). All money raised for cookies also goes towards scholarships!
43rd ANNUAL U.C.C.A. HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE
October 24–November 19, 2021. All District 205 students and families are invited to help fill holiday food boxes by bringing their donations of nonperishable food to their local schools October 25–November 19, 2021. The donations will be picked up, packed and delivered to families on Saturday, December 11. Each year the vast majority of food delivered comes from the schools! Too busy to shop? UCCA will have an online donation component of the food drive as well. More details to come!
D205 CHAIN OF COMMAND
District 205 has launched a Chain of Command document that outlines who to contact when parents seek help or have a question or concern. This establishes clear expectations and communications at every level. The District hopes the document helps parents obtain answers quickly from the correct source when questions arise.
